big_alfa_mito_ap_02 Alfa Romeo paces ahead with another spectacular car…the Alfa MiTo. The naming of the car has a pretty interesting story, though initially the Alfa Romeo asked for public suggestions for naming the new car which was finalized as “Furiso”, but later on changed the name to Alfa Mito – Mi – stands for Milan where the car was designed while To stands for Torino or Turin, the place of its production. Mito, in Italian stands for myth or legend which but obviously adds value to the car.

Drawing inspiration mainly from Alfa 8C Competizione supercar, the car boasts of DNA – a special electronic control system which is designed to adjust the car upon the driving pattern, LED rear lights and even the driving conditions. The options within the DNA system are Dynamic, Normal, All Weather.

Choose from 3 options, Turismo, Lusso and Veloce trim levels, though most opted will be the Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM Veloce which could be prove reliable even after a high mileage.

Alfa Romeo MiTo has a 1368cc, four cylinders engine with power at 155bhp @ 5500rpm. The six speed manual transmission works great and fuel consumption rests at 43.5 mpg while carbon emission is 153g/km. Gearing up for top speed which is 134 mph while acceleration is 0-62mph in almost 8 sec. If you wish you could also go in for a 95 bhp diesel engine which is 1.3 liter or the 120bhp enormous 1.6 liter engine.

Good and solid Interiors do impress you, even with a base model of Alfa Mito you get air conditioning and a trip computer. Not quite spacious as you would wish, as it is a small in size. Alfa Mito provides a 270 liter luggage capacity at just 270 liter, you definitely long for larger luggage space. Well, this proves it is not very suitable for long trips and transporting a sizeable chunk of luggage.

Thinking of buying one, a good decision as it is an Alfa make and provides good value for your hard earned money. Get ready to shell out approximately £10,000 plus for the standard model while the Veloce trim could very well cost almost £15,000
