The wait is finally over as the brand new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is officially revealed for the whole world to see in 2009; an American supercar that brings the technology and engineering enhancement of carbon-fiber, ceramics and electronics together in an idiosyncratic design. This car is mechanized by a supercharged LS9 6.2L small-block engine and the rumors are that the ZR1 will be capable of producing at least 100 horsepower per liter and that’s at least a whopping 620 horsepower and approximately 595 lb.-ft. of torque. The small-block engine will be able to hit those colossal numbers due to adding up of the positive-displacement Roots-type supercharger with a new, four-lobe rotor design including an incorporated charge cooling system that diminishes inlet air temperature for improved performance.

Next, the car includes some huge carbon-ceramic, drilled disc brake rotors. They are very big and powerful and they use the same 15-inch diameter discs found on the front of the Ferrari 599; but in the front they’ll get even larger to 15.5-inch diameter rotors-they are surely and simply breath-taking to see up-close.

clip_image004It has a six-speed, close ratio and race hardened manual transmission and a high capability dual disc clutch. The twenty-spoke 19 inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, sounds very smooth and the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires-P25/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear are developed especially for the ZR1. You will see many more specialized components of the ZR1 that work harmoniously to transport the most controlling and fastest automobile ever created by general motors. Preliminary tests show that the ZR1 builds on the highly respected Corvette Z06 in every performance category from acceleration and braking to cornering grip and top speed. The ZR1 is expected to be the production Corvette to achieve a top speed of at least 200 mph.

From outside, the Corvette is easily familiar with conceivably the most exclusive features-a raised, all-carbon-fiber hood that integrates a clear, polycarbonate window. The window makes the top of the engine’s intercooler seen exceptionally well. The exterior components that are made up of carbon-fiber are protected by a specifically developed glossy, UV resistant clear coat that resists yellowing and wear.

All these features and more will definitely want you to add it in that car collection of yours. Happy Driving!!!
